1on1 MFA/Acting School Audition Prep
Having attended NYU's Graduate Acting Program, and gone through the MFA Audition madness himself, David thrives off of helping each actor feel great about their grad school auditions. For over 10 years David has been helping actors step past their blocks, and do what they're best at: creating inspired, living, spontaneous work. Too often confusion, anxiety, and overwhelm of the audition prep can drive you mad. This process can just as easily be joyful, empowering and full of discovery for the artist. David will help guide you through the entire process, and get you to present the most complete, alive, talented, unique, human, expansive version of yourself. David has guided so many actors into admission at all of the top schools in America, including many actors currently at The Yale School of Drama (DGSD), NYU Graduate Acting, Juilliard, Columbia University and many many others. But even greater for him- it truly is all of the artists' unbelievable transformations that inspire him and keep him coming back.
PIECES Beginning with the piece selection process, David will get you confidently armed with your primary and backup pieces so that your range, and most importantly, your brilliant individuality will shine through.
THE WORK The heart of the work will be on uncovering your own sense of truth and presence in the material. Using various methods (from Michael Chekhov to Hagen, Adler, Stanislavksy to Improv and NYU Grad Technique) there will be no stopping until you feel confident, alive and spontaneous with the monologues you will be performing.
DAY-OF PREP Lastly, David will prep you for everything "Day-Of." This includes mock auditions, interviews and concentration/relaxation work for the potentially endless waiting room game. David wants to make sure you have all the tools to navigate all that arises day-of, so that once you step into the room, your work and most importantly you yourself shine through.
